Many healthcare managers have either not learned or forgotten that their ultimate goal is ensuring that patients receive health care that is accessible, high quality, and delivered in a cost-effective manner.
Hospitals, HMO, nursing homes, clinics, and other facilities and organizations exist for the benefit of the patient. Unfortunately, the message of the patient as central to the health of the organization has been lost in many cases.
Healthcare managers must also strive to provide centers of clinical and spiritual excellence. In this way, we all fulfill our mission.
